Book Clubs

Starting in May!

Curtis Memorial Library: Silent Book Club
Every Thursday from 4 to 6 pm at the library.

At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books... it's BYOBook. Friends and strangers gather at a set time and location share what they're reading for the first 10 minutes then settle in for an hour (or more) of silent, sustained reading.
At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not!

Free and open to all, no need to have a library card (but why wouldn't you?!?!)
Bring your own food and drinks or order next door, tea and coffee will also be on hand.
Join us each week or maybe just once or twice a month.
It's up to you, there is no pressure!

The library also participates in the All Iowa Reads program organized by the State Library.  Each year during the Summer Reading Program we will host a more traditional book talk where we will offer copies of that year's All Iowa Reads selection and gather on the fourth Thursday of the month to discuss the book.
